PROJEC/T
For the past several years my work has explored what remains. Through restrained surfaces, cuts, apertures, and quiet material interventions, I examined how absence acquires form and how events continue to shape us long after they have passed. That body of work asked what persists.
PROJEC/T begins with a different question: How do we perceive, experience, and engage with time itself?
Rather than treating time as a neutral backdrop, I approach it as something we actively inhabit. We remember, anticipate, wait, synchronize, lose track of time, revisit the past, imagine the future, and measure our lives through rhythms both personal and collective. Time is not simply a sequence of moments; it is a condition that shapes perception, identity, relationships, and meaning.
Each work within PROJEC/T is approached as an experiment. Some investigate the bodily experience of duration, rhythm, repetition, or stillness. Others explore the social dimensions of time: aging, memory, shared rituals, historical change, collective anticipation, or the ways technology reshapes our temporal lives. Sometimes the works will illustrate these ideas, other times they will create situations in which viewers become participants in the experience of time.
Together, these works form something larger than a series of independent artworks. They will become a special network of the many ways human beings inhabit time. Every installation, object, or intervention occupies one small region of that landscape and might point toward questions that remain unexplored. PROJEC/T is intended to expand over many years, gradually revealing relationships between different temporal experiences and inviting new perspectives on how time structures our lives.
Unlike my other works, which emerge largely from a personal investigation into memory, absence, and what remains, PROJEC/T is conceived from the outset as an open and collaborative inquiry. The ambition is not to build a singular artistic voice around time, but to create a shared space for investigation.
I hope to invite artists, writers, philosophers, scientists, musicians, designers, and others whose work touches on the experience of time to contribute ideas, challenge assumptions, and develop new experiments. PROJEC/T is envisioned not simply as an evolving body of artwork, but as a community exploring one of the most fundamental dimensions of human experience.
