Born in 1974 (Apeldoorn, The Netherlands), Jasper Simons is a contemporary, minimal artist working at the intersection of painting and sculpture. His artistic practice is process focused. He works in two distinct ways. His works with acrylics and graphite on wood explore tension, friction, and trauma in raw and elemental forms. His works with ink and charcoal on paper layer geometric shapes and patterns to create quiet reflections.
